News Corp Australia Creative Director in NSW, Australia

What’s the role?

We’re looking for a well-rounded senior writer or copy-based creative director to help solve, execute and lead integrated creative projects at News Corp Australia.

This role is a 3 month contract and will work across our top news and lifestyle titles including, Escape, delicious, news.com.au, taste.com.au and more. This is an excellent opportunity for a personable creative with several years of experience in an advertising agency, in-house marketing, or publisher content creation. This role would suit a senior writer who’s as passionate about writing craft as they are about big ideas and is looking to take the next step.

Reporting directly to the Head of Creative, this role is key to constantly delivering great ideas that help win business and have clients coming back for more. This is a hands-on role that will require meeting with sales, strategy, editorial, and other stakeholders to understand their needs, as well as a combination of working independently and with others in the creative team nationally. Attention to detail, clear and professional communication skills and a positive attitude are requirements for this role, where you’ll need to be able to clarify unclear briefs and juggle competing priorities to tight deadlines. Who are you?

  • Experience working as a writer, coming up with fresh ideas in response to briefs and articulating them in a compelling way

  • Experience working across print, digital, social and video content.

  • Experience presenting ideas to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Experience managing stakeholder expectations.

  • Great communication, problem-solving and organisational skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently when required.

  • Self-motivated and a positive attitude.

  • Experience leading creative teams would be an advantage but is not a requirement.

  • Experience with Adobe InDesign and Google Workspace would be a bonus but is not a requirement
