Job Description Summary

Supporting the EHS Leader, this individual will be responsible for ensuring compliance of safe work practices, regulatory stands (EPA, DOT, OSHA, NFPA, etc.) and plant policies and procedures.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Directs the implementation of occupational safety, health, and environmental programs with a high level of expertise. Standards include Confined Space, Hazard Communication, Lockout/Tagout, NFPA 70E/electrical safety, Industrial Hygiene and Machine Guarding, etc.

  • Performs safety risk analysis and evaluates effectiveness of defenses to mitigate employee injury.

  • Skilled in the development and delivery of EHS training programs to a variety of audiences (managers and trades personnel) and can manage documentation accordingly.

  • Leads investigations, develops true root cause, implements corrective actions, and tracks actions to closure for all EHS related events.

  • Initiates action to prevent accidents from both conditions and acts/behaviors in partnership with EHS Leader.

  • Investigates EHS related accidents and near-misses, implements corrective actions, tracks corrective actions to closure.

  • Inspects facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards.

  • Maintains all relevant health and safety documentation including but not limited to, OSHA General Industry safety and environmental programs.

  • Encourages and promotes the use of safe work rules, equipment, materials, and supplies.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years’ experience in Environmental Health & Safety).

Desired Characteristics

  • Safety certifications such as OSHA 501, OSHA 511, EHS Specialist, CSP, ASP, etc.

  • Strong communication, leadership, facilitation, and project management skills with the ability to speak effectively with influence on various stakeholders.

  • Viewed as a leader who can motivate teams and bring a strong positive attitude toward change.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills; demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects.

  • Effective problem identification and solution skills.

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Advanced proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).

  • Humble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learn.

  • Transparent: shares critical information, speaks with candor, contributes constructively.

  • Focused: quick learner, strategically prioritizes work, committed.

  • Leadership ability: strong communicator, decision-maker, collaborative.

The base pay range for this position is $73,600 - $85,000 . The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on November 29, 2024.
