Summary:

The Emergency Services Screener I provides crisis intervention and assessment for adults, children and adolescents, to make recommendations for treatment that provides the least restrictive environment to meet the individual's needs for voluntary and involuntary psychiatric and substance abuse treatment. Coordinates the Intake/psych ED waiting area in conjunction with other intake/ED Team Members to ensure the care, welfare, safety and security of persons served. Responsible to coordinate with law enforcement, other hospitals, central access and outpatient agencies by providing phone screening and triage for individuals needing placement in a behavioral health receiving facility. Responds to telephone and in-person requests for referrals to internal and external sources. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Experience includes 1 years Mental Health or Mental Health internship with 6 months Acute emergency care preferred.
