Carleton College Admissions Systems Analyst in Northfield, Minnesota

The Admissions Systems Analyst supports the College s use of the Slate CRM for recruitment, selection, and matriculation. Working in close coordination with other members of the Admissions Systems team, the Analyst has aptitude for learning CRM functionality and a solid foundation of the goals and priorities of college admissions and financial aid, in both theory and practice. They should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, energetic environment, and collaborate well with technical and non-technical users alike. The Admissions Systems Analyst plays a key role in maintaining the Slate CRM in support of the college s goals to recruit and retain students from all backgrounds, but also those students historically underrepresented in higher education. Reporting to the Senior Associate Dean and Director of Admissions Systems, the Admissions Systems Analyst is centrally involved in the College s maintenance and enhancement of the Slate CRM data architecture and functional modules. In addition to working as a team member with other Admissions Systems colleagues, the person in this role will collaborate regularly with functional experts in recruitment, selection, volunteer management, and other campus databases, as well as third-party providers beyond Carleton. Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities: Slate CRM System and Data Integrity: o Directs the building and maintenance of both ongoing and ad hoc data imports, including accurate mapping, deduplication of records, and automation when possible o Oversees ongoing data quality assurance, especially for data tables relating to student records, organizations, organization contacts o Prepares application files for committee review, including test score redaction, matching materials appropriately, and the import and scanning of materials o Supports the building and maintenance of integrations between Slate and other campus systems o Evaluates new feature releases in Slate CRM to determine their feasibility for our needs Short-term and long-term group projects in Slate CRM: o Works with Admissions and Financial Aid functional experts to build or enhance Slate-based functionality to support division initiatives o Establishes and manages expectations from key stakeholders o Evaluates available resources (time, knowledge, budget, personnel) for new initiatives o Provides updates and seeks input from other Slate CRM colleagues o Serves as the primary technical consultant to the Alumni Admissions Representative program A culture of ownership, accountability, and inclusivity, in Slate CRM and at the College: o Serves as a primary point of contact for Slate questions within and beyond the division o Builds sustainable queries and reports in Slate for assessing programmatic progress and success o Creates and maintains documentation for processes and training o Trains new staff in Slate o Represents the College to other agencies and groups as needed, including attending virtual and in-person programming regionally and nationally o Encourages an open, welcoming, and inclusive environment in admissions that actively supports not only fellow colleagues, but also prospective students and their families. o Guide student workers through various ongoing and one-time projects Additional Job Responsibilities: Travels on behalf of the College to conferences and trainings (<4x/year for no more than 1 week at a time) May be asked to support all hands on deck days with visitor-focused assignments Will also be expected to perform other assignments deemed necessary by the Senior Associate Dean or other senior members of staff.
