TREE TOP INC Maintenance Planner/Scheduler, Prosser in North Prosser, Washington
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler position is responsible for effectively planning the execution of all maintenance work control processes. Position efficiently and effectively plans and schedules all resources to conduct maintenance activities resulting in minimum downtime and maximum productivity; manages work priorities; develops job plans; defines parts and materials; defines crafts and skills of Mechanics and Electricians; and engages the proper resources, with the help of the Production Scheduler, to develop a safe work plan. In addition, the position provides the equipment-related expertise and technical guidance to improve Preventive Maintenance activities. The position forecasts work by developing a schedule for work to be completed and building a job library with work plans for common and uncommon work tasks for Maintenance Mechanics and Electricians. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: This position reports to the Maintenance Manager, directly supervises the Inventory/Purchasing Attendant, and has dotted line oversight on creating and assigning Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Work Orders (WO) to the Maintenance Mechanics and Electricians. The position works closely with the maintenance department, Production Scheduler, and other plant staff. QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENTRY: KNOWLEDGE OF: Principles and practices of food manufacturing, including food safety, quality, manufacturing concepts. Reliability and Maintenance Best Practices, Maintenance Job Planning, and computerized maintenance management systems. Resource leveling. Working knowledge of the maintenance processes and proper use of the work order system, planning and scheduling and storeroom processes. Working knowledge and ability to train to Predictive Maintenance principles and tools such as: vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, etc. Principles and practices of maintenance, electrical, electronics, PLC, fabrication, and welding. Working knowledge of FDA and OSHA regulations, GMPs, Sanitation, and HACCP. Understanding of associated processing equipment and engineering. Pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes, and regulations. ABILITY TO: Demonstrated ability to write and provide simple and accurate instructions. Communicate effectively in cross functional teams to better align personnel and production schedules against maintenance requirements to ensure overall Plant performance. Effectively manage multiple priorities or projects simultaneously with multidisciplinary teams toward a shared goal. Demonstrated ability to read standard blueprints, machine, and process drawings. Ability to sketch simple drawings for instruction or redline existing drawings. Have adequate craft knowledge and skill to accurately estimate labor hours, material requirement and skills needed to complete a job. Must have a demonstrated ability to visualize and communicate the execution of work. Identify, research, and analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, and project consequences of proposed actions. Plan and develop maintenance work instructions and kits for planned Repairs and Preventive Maintenance. Use computers and computer software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases. Meet behaviors established in Tree Top's Performance Culture and Values. EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION/LICENSES, AND TRAINING: Mechanical/electrical background is required. Apprenticeship program or technical school background is desirable. Minimum of 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience, as well as experience in implementing and maintaining a preventive/predictive maintenance system. HACCP Certification, SQF Certification, Food Safety Programs training, ammonia training, boiler operator training, and/or pneumatics training preferred.
