SDL offers competitive salaries and a fantastic benefits package, including: * Flexible work schedules * Generous annual, sick, and holiday paid leave * A variety of inexpensive-premium, high-quality health, dental, vision, and life insurance options * Generous employer retirement contribution (Up to 14.2% of annual gross earnings) * Discounted USU tuition of 50% for employees and dependents * Access to USU facilities and USU staff privileges In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for: * Preparing necessary paperwork to be provided to the Electronic Assembly Lab and mechanical parts for coating processes along with manufacturing assemblies e.g., machine setup, TAD's, assembly drawings, travelers, and rework instructions etc. * Functioning as the liaison between engineers and the manufacturing floor (machine shop, EAL and any other manufacturing) * Interpreting engineering drawings and facilitating correction on drawings and documents identified during manufacturing operations * Collaborating with all necessary disciplines (management, shop personnel, procurement personnel, programs, quality personnel and others) to ensure fabrication schedule requirements are met * Providing manufacturing support to assembly lines using internal processes and equipment knowledge * Acting independently to complete projects with minimal supervision and within deadlines * Assisting engineers with information for improvements on designs and manufacturing Manufacturing Specialist Skills and Qualifications * Must have at least 5 years of related experience and high school diploma (or equivalent college education and experience); some college education is preferred * Should possess knowledge in manufacturing processes (machine shop, printed wire board assembly (PWA) and cable assemblies) * Able to certify to IPC standards for electronics assembly * Must have knowledge and proficiency in use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Jira, and overall computer experience * Must be able to perform assigned duties with limited oversight * Possession of knowledge of electronic assembly drawings, cable assembly drawings, and mechanical drawings for machine shop services * Able to travel intermittently for training or to visit offsite customer locations * Must be a U.S. citizen * Must have the ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance in the future if needed Preferred Qualifications: * Experience reviewing EERA basic parts (e.g., resistors, capacitors, diodes etc.) For questions or assistance with the application process or the DoD SkillBridge program, please contact employment@sdl.usu.edu.
