SUMMARY: ASRC Federal Field Services provides logistical support at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in NorthCharleston,SC(FLETC Federal Complex off Spruill Avenue). We are looking for an experienced Boiler Operator.

Under the direction of the Lead Boiler Operator, the boiler tender's responsibilities are tomonitorand operate systems and equipment, perform adjustments, observe factorssuch as temperature and pressure, log daily records, replace equipment parts as needed. Qualified candidate must have a wide breath of boiler plant knowledge and have proven experience installing, maintaining andrepairing boiler systems and support equipment at large facilities. Work schedule is rotating shifts Sunday thru Saturday.

Roles/Responsibilities

• Assembles, installs andrepairs pipes, fittings and fixtures of heating, water anddrainage systems according to specifications and codes.

• Monitor gauges,dialsor other indicators to ensure boiler plant is operating properlyand safely.

• Use a variety of hand and power tools when performing task such as replacing defective valves, filters, and steam gauges on a heating system.

• Contact equipment manufactures orappropriatespecialistswhennecessary to resolve equipment problems.

• Test boiler water quality or arrange for testing and take necessary corrective action such as adding chemicals to prevent corrosion and harmful deposits.

• Maintain daily logs of operation, maintenance and safety activities including test results, instrument readings and details of equipment malfunctions.

• Provide support and accept fuel oil deliveries,performand log fuel soundings for submittal to site manager.

• Operate and tend stationary engines,boilersand auxiliary equipment such as pumps, compressors, air conditioning equipment, supply andmaintainsteam or heat for building operations.

• May haveadditional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be able to lift 70 pounds.

• Must haveexperiencewith complex systems in Industrial and/or Government Sectors.

• Detail oriented and highly safety conscious.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.

• Must be a US citizen or Naturalized citizen.

• Must be able to read, write,speakand understand English.

• Must be able to pass a background investigation and pass a drug and physical exam.Must have a valid SC Driver's License.
