Overview
GPM Investments, LLC, the 6thlargest convenience store chain with over 1,500 retail stores and 1,700 wholesale locations nationwide, is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant who will be responsible for performing high level accounting tasks, detailed analysis, general ledger entries and account reconciliations in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and practices

Responsibilities
Responsible for reconciling lottery transactions for various states as they relate to the convenience store industry.
Research, analyze, and resolve discrepancies and missing data related to lottery sales and inventory to ensure transactions are accurately reflected in the financial statements.
Perform detailed, high volume data comparisons of store transactions to state lottery invoices and payments.
Responsible for general ledger entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
Communicate lottery reporting issues and discrepancies and work with Retail Accounting and Operations staff to correct store paperwork and provide guidance on proper store procedures as needed. Position interfaces frequently with various levels of the organization across multiple departments.
Identify and present potential solutions for accounting operating system issues, compile and provide relevant statistical information, and develop procedures for process improvements.
Conform and adhere to internal controls over accounting procedures as set forth by upper management.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting Required
2+ years of General Ledger Accounting and reconciliation experience in a corporate environment
Thorough understanding of GAAP
Proficient in the utilization of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
Ability to multi-task and complete projects within specific deadlines
Experience completing detailed accounting schedules
Ability to manage and reconcile large amounts of detailed transactions
Strong computer, presentation, and organizational skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Detail oriented with excellent time management skills
