What You Will Do

Operate security tooling to ensure the Company’s protection. Serve as essential resource in providing a consultive partnership with all Company departments both within IT and its internal customers. Ensure security controls are implemented properly. Collaborate to continuously improve the Company’s security posture by fostering the security mindset. The role will cover multiple security domains, and support changes to IAM/IGA.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as a liaison between technical teams, vendors, and Global IT to drive implementation and remediation activities for identified vulnerabilities.

  • Ensure IT Security systems, infrastructure, policies, and procedures align with established standards.

  • Audit, and support identity access management

  • Assess and validate access controls to Company data/resources defined by business need in alignment with security policies and best practices to ensure information security, compliance, and the mitigation of least privilege and separation of duty risks.

  • Automate existing security tasks and build tooling to efficiently implement new controls.

  • Identify opportunities for continual business and self-improvement, including industry best practices and recommended changes to business processes, systems, and projects. Remain current with training to ensure knowledge of best practices is up to date.

  • Review system security configurations, staying current with security and technology industry trends through research and knowledge sharing.

  • Perform vulnerability scans and internal security assessments and tests.

  • Perform system, network, and account review processes in.

  • Support business continuity, disaster recovery, and incident response planning.

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field of study or equivalent relevant experience

  • 5+ years of cybersecurity experience

  • Must be 21 years of age or older

  • MSP/MSSP or CSP preferred

  • Experience to include, but is not limited to:

  • Security incident response

  • System and account review

  • Firewall ruleset review

Knowledge of:

  • General IT technologies including but not limited to:

  • Both server and end user versions of Windows, Linux

  • Virtualization technologies

  • Routing, VLANs, ACLs, OSI Model and its practical application

  • Firewall policy construction including NGFW capabilities (Fortinet preferred)

  • E-Mail flow and security technologies

  • Encryption methodologies and standards

  • Standard infrastructure network services (AD,DHCP,DNS,AAA,LDAP, NAC, SMTP)

  • Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and Incident Management Process and Documentation.

  • Cybersecurity attack methodologies (Phishing, XSS, MITM, Etc.)

  • Azure security tooling

  • Microsoft Entra ID

  • Tenable vulnerability management tooling

Skilled in:

  • Oral and written communication

  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams)

  • Translating complex security concepts so that they are relatable

Ability to:

  • Organize, prioritize and manage projects

  • Maintain effective working relationships

  • Respectfully differ in opinion

  • Implement, maintain, or audit RBAC

  • Work with teams of global resources

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience with Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and Incident Management Processes

  • Experience configuring SAML integrations

  • Vulnerability mitigation

  • Application security

  • System security analysis

  • Coordination of system and account reviews as part of compliance framework

  • CISSP or Equivalent

  • ITIL Foundations

  • Skill with PowerShell or other scripting language

Work Environment and Physical Demand

Requires light physical effort. Occasionally lifts or moves light objects (under 10 lbs.).

Walks, sits, or stands for prolonged periods.

Requires prolonged machine operation including computer and keyboard equipment as well as use of manual dexterity and fine motor skills.

May participate in on-call rotation or demand off-hour work

Be available for east coast hours with ability to work in Company headquarters in Greensboro, NC when requested
