Managers, Automation Controls Engineering with Rivian Automotive, LLC in Normal, IL. Lead and grow a team of highly skilled controls engineers to create state of the art control systems to be deployed to different body in white production lines with an edge in innovation for Rivians electric vehicles. Responsible for the implementation of company standards and frameworks to create controls applications specific for equipment used in production verticals. Provide guidance and support to our suppliers from the design phase through the start of production with thorough review of their work and coordination and documentation of acceptance tests during buyoff at the suppliers site and after completion of commissioning. Work in synergy with suppliers and contractors, ensure that data propagation between components for production tracking, manufacturing systems, and diagnostics are established and validated. Troubleshoot problems in the factory and partner with cross functional leadership across the enterprise to solve automation related challenges. Responsible for the deliverables of the team and establish standards and best practices for deployment, conformance, and auditing of new and existing systems. Make pragmatic, data-driven decision, and clearly articulate reasoning. Propose and develop new strategies to push automation whenever possible and improve the development, configuration, and deployment time of new work cells. Architect and implement software and robotics solutions aimed at high-performance and extensibility, ensure that we deploy safe automation solutions with best practices and security. Dissect and reimplement manufacturing device communication protocols to achieve new integrations. Re-define and innovate automation and robotic solutions in the manufacturing industries. Supervise a team of engineers.\ \ RQMTS: Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, Mechatronic Engineering, or closely related and 2 years of [or Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent as stated above and 5 years of] experience in any occupation of control engineer, automation engineer or related. Must have experience with: Managing contractors and suppliers of automation projects from concept design through production release; Designing, implementing, and evolving high performance automation solutions; Working in the automotive manufacturing process, with a focus in body in white; Working with common controls hardware used in advanced, high volume manufacturing; Developing and interpreting electrical schematics using EPLAN and AutoCAD Electrical; and Industrial electrical standards NFPA79, NEC, and UL508A. Salary Range: \$147,000 - \$188,000/yr.
