Software engineering is the application of engineering to the design, development, implementation, testing and maintenance of software in a systematic method. The roles in this function will cover all primary development activity across all technology functions that ensure we deliver code with high quality for our applications, products and services and to understand customer needs and to develop product roadmaps.

These roles include, but are not limited to analysis, design, coding, engineering, testing, debugging, standards, methods, tools analysis, documentation, research and development, maintenance, new development, operations and delivery. With every role in the company, each position has a requirement for building quality into every output. This also includes evaluating new tools, new techniques, strategies; Automation of common tasks; build of common utilities to drive organizational efficiency with a passion around technology and solutions and influence of thought and leadership on future capabilities and opportunities to apply technology in new and innovative ways.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Define - Architect - Automate - Enhance -> Resiliency, Performance, Observability, Availability and Reliability Practices including but not limited to Key reliability practices - resiliency testing, performance testing, capacity management, patch management, certificate management, disaster recovery, telemetry, and automations.

• Lead -> Reliability engineering function

• Apply Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and Practices to enhance the availability, reliability & security of the product

• Reduce operational man hours and automate every possible operational process and work. Program and Automate (sound programming skills)

• Perform Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) tasks without supervision, and able to provide direct feedback to improve ITSM processes

• Incident Response (Incident Validation -Restoration - Communication). Providing On-Call support (on rotation basis & Follow the Sun Model)

• Create complex architecture design models that describe platform solutions that both conform to platform standards and advocates for modern technology and best practices

• Provide end-to-end support and leadership of multiple platforms

• Leverage modern tools and instrumentation to drive reliability and meet Service Level Objectives (SLOs)

• Demonstrate understanding of key networking technologies, and ability to include this understanding in troubleshooting and problem management

• Utilize monitoring and observability tools to track performance and availability of applications and determine trends. Ability to coach others in learning this technology

• Utilize log forwarding technology to troubleshoot problems and identify trends. Ability to coach others in learning this technology

• Continuous application monitoring & Alerting using modern advanced monitoring & log forwarding tools such as Elastic Search, Splunk, New

• Relic, Elastic APM, Prometheus, Grafana etc.

• Frequent/continuous zero downtime deployment planning and executions

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) - AWS Infrastructure Designing, Provisioning, & Enhancements using Terraform

• Adapt to new programming languages, methodologies, platforms, and frameworks to support the business needs

• Complete tasks with minimal guidance and oversight, and review work of others. Independently troubleshoot problems and zero in on the likely root causes

• Being flexible to work beyond Shift hours and on Weekends as we manage availability & Security of our product that runs 24*7; though we follow the best SRE practices of On Calls - at times supporting each other, and flexing is a necessity

• A very solid communication and comprehension skill

• Encourage collaboration and cohesiveness within the team

• Demonstrate integrity and ethical behavior by complying with applicable laws, regulations, and policies, and requiring the same from others

• Analyzes and investigates

• Provides explanations and interpretations within area of expertise
