The Opportunity

Delaware North Parks and Resorts is hiring a Sous Chef to join our team at Niagara Falls State Park in Niagara Falls, New York. As a Sous Chef, you will be responsible for controlling the total function of the kitchen in the Executive Chef’s absence, specifically food production and quality assurance as well as cost control. Pay

Minimum – Anticipated Maximum Base Salary: $58458 - $66800 / year

In addition to base salary, we offer an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. The advertised pay range represents what we believe at the time of this job posting, that we would be willing to pay for this position. Only in special circumstances, where a candidate has education, training, or experience that far exceeds the requirements for the position, would we consider paying higher than the stated range. Responsibilities

  • Implement operational procedures for food preparation, recipe development, and food presentation, ensuring portion and quality control

  • Supervise cooks and kitchen team members, coordinating menu planning, food service, and special events

  • Analyze menu and food costs, preparing reports and developing cost-effective, high-quality menu items, including specials

  • Maintain high standards of sanitation and kitchen cleanliness, oversee facility and equipment maintenance, and support compliance with environmental programs

  • Schedule, train, develop, and counsel team members, while monitoring food costs, labor costs, and conducting bi-monthly inventory checks for quality and quantity

Qualifications

  • Thorough knowledge of food preparation, purchasing, sanitation, and food costs

  • Minimum of 3 years of culinary and supervisory experience required; CSC designation preferred

  • Formal culinary training required

  • 4-year degree preferred

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
