GKN Automotive Electrical Controls Engineer in Newton, North Carolina
Responsibilities
Develop electrical and controls system solutions with good engineering principles and customer involvement.
Provide technical support from line conception to installation and operation.
Interpret operational interruptions, identify, and address design parameters and engineering problems to ensure solutions are implemented accurately.
Define and conceptualize equipment upgrades.
Identify and trial new technology and software.
Support MES integrations.
Comprehend, develop, and support PLC software applications.
Develop, integrate, and support controls systems using a variety of automation technology including PLCs, HMIs, pneumatics, servos, robotics, presses, vision systems, tightening systems, and leak detectors.
Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (or similar related degree) from an accredited university.
Strong fundamental knowledge of control and electrical system design and its application in automated industrial designs.
Proficient with MS Office, Siemens Step 7, and Siemens TIA Portal
Experience with Kuka or Fanuc Robots
Critical thinking with exceptional problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and in team environments
Proactive, resourceful, and highly motivated with efficient communication skills
Efficiently organize work tasks to follow company goals
Experience
- 3 or more years of experience with industrial automation
