Description

Jana Chapman is seeking a Senior Accountant to join her client near Portland, Oregon. This role is crucial to the financial operations of our organization in the manufacturing sector, focusing on maintaining financial records, preparing financial statements, and executing various accounting duties.

Responsibilities:

• Execute general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization.

• Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.

• Maintain the general ledger and reconcile bank accounts.

• Verify deposits and address inquiries from banks.

• Reconcile cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts.

• Verify payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.

• Assist outside auditors by providing necessary account information and documents for annual audits.

• File tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.

• Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.

• Handle stress professionally, demonstrate the ability to get along with others, and work overtime/extra hours as required to meet business needs.

• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements • Must hold a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role as a Senior Accountant

• Possess strong skills in Consolidations, Intercompany Eliminations, and Manufacturing Accounting

• Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar field. A Master's degree or CPA would be advantageous

• Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

• Proficiency with accounting software and experience with a software system implementation

• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong time management and organizational skills

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions

• Must have the legal right to work in the location of the job.
