Responsibilities The Construction Inspector works independently at the direction of the Construction Engineer to observe and document the materials, methods, and procedures used by a Contractor to build public improvements.
- Takes pictures and writes detailed reports of the methods and progress of the work, comparing how the work is completed to how the plans and specifications call for it to be completed.
- Tracks pay item quantities complete in place to verify the Contractor's pay applications.
- Notates on plans any changes in the work or unexpected conditions encountered.
- Acts as the Owner's agent and representative on the Construction Project, communicating with the Contractor and the general public.
- Assists the Contractor in interpreting the plans where able, and refers questions to the Engineer where needed.
Qualifications
- Experience in infrastructure construction industry required.
- Previous experience in project inspection strongly preferred.
