What you will do
The PPA team is looking for a sharp and analytical individual to join the team as a Portfolio Management Sr. Analyst. You will be reporting to the Assistant Portfolio Manager and will be part of small team with broad responsibilities for the investment management of PPA client portfolios.
This position is based in Newark, NJ and will follow a hybrid schedule (3 days in office). Our organization follows a hybrid work structure where employees can work remotely and/ from the office, as needed, based on demands of specific tasks or personal work preferences. Working from the office is encouraged when working on tasks that require a high degree of collaboration.
What you can expect
Support daily risk measurement of portfolio and benchmark risk positions
Perform portfolio analytics including stress testing, return attribution, and rebalancing scenarios to optimize portfolio asset allocation and hedge positions
Create market reports to track relative value across asset classes
Generate client reports to highlight returns and risk exposure
Track client cashflow forecasts to determine portfolio liquidation needs or cash available for investment
Track compliance limits and monitor portfolios relative to established constraints; provide periodic client and internal reporting
Construct asset class, sector, interest rate / ALM and liquidity limits
Enter trade tickets for review by PMs to rebalance portfolios
Participate in new deal pricing analysis to assess hedge needs and risk/ruturn tradeoffs
Research and develop risk views across asset classes and sectors
Analyze historical experience of credit sectors and developing long term default and recovery assumptions
Work with PPA PM team and PGIM businesses in assessing new investment opportunities
Support PM team in review and selection of external asset managers; performing ongoing due diligence
What you will bring
Bachelors Degree or Equivalent in financial engineering, mathematics, computer science or other quantitative fields
1-4 years of direct experience in investment risk management and Asset Liability Management (ALM)
Understanding of fixed income and alternative asset classes and risks
Experience with derivatives and how to hedge complex portfolio and ALM risk
Understanding of risk-return characteristics of asset classes including bonds, structured credit, equities, alternatives, and derivatives as well as liabilities including life insurance and annuities
Knowledge of portfolio risk systems (e.g., Aladdin) and models
Expertise in assessing risk exposures for portfolios supporting various insurance liabilities
Quantitative background in financial modelling, data analytics, statistical methods, and programming
Fluent in statistical techniques and data analytics
Creative problem solver with focus on innovation
Must be able to effectively partner with teams across PPA and PGIM asset managers
Successful communicator with ability to develop reports and present them to clients and senior management
Open-minded, innovative, strategic problem solver

Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $105,000 to $135,000. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
