Qualifications:

Required:

  • MSN or MSN-Nursing Education

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in specialty required

  • Experience in education or staff development is required

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Preferred:

  • Certification in Nursing Professional Development preferred

  • Completion of Clinical experience in NLN accredited school preferred

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • CCRN Certification

  • BLS and ACLS

  • Active NJ RN license or compact RN license with NJ endorsement

Scheduling Requirements:

Full-time Days; 37.5 hours per week

Monday through Friday with shift flexibility to meet departmental needs

Essential Functions:

  • The Adult Critical Care Educator assesses the learning needs of a group of employees and identifies priority learning needs in congruence with organizational goals, trended data and regulatory standards

  • Plans, designs, and develop learning/performance initiatives to meet identified priority learning needs

  • Coordinates and implements cost-effective learning and performance initiatives designed to close the performance gap or to raise the performance bar

  • Leads complex work groups that increase the performance of staff and enhances performance improvement initiatives

  • Evaluates, documents and reports outcomes

  • Acts as a change agent for new departmental and organizational processes

  • Coaches and develops other educators and acts as role model in building supportive and collaborative work relationships with others.

  • Serves as a clinical resource for the nursing staff and health care providers to achieve optimal patient outcomes

  • Disseminates recent innovations and research findings relevant to education, nursing practice, and patient outcomes to foster evidence-based practice

  • Links nurses to professional development and other relevant resources

  • Evaluates the outcomes of staff education

  • Designs and implements evaluation plans for programs and projects
