Job Title: Field Service Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Controls Technician to install, commission, and maintain our conveyor systems on-site. The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanical and electrical installation, strong problem-solving skills, and a proven track record in installing conveyor equipment. The Controls Technician will be responsible for ensuring that all on-site installations are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of the client.
Responsibilities
Install and commission conveyor equipment and systems, including mechanical and electrical components.
Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the installation and maintenance of conveyor systems.
Communicate project status, risks, and issues to the project manager and internal teams.
Collaborate with other departments such as engineering, sales, and customer service to ensure project success.
Maintain accurate project documentation and reports.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Essential Skills
Experience working with conveyor systems.
PLC knowledge.
Experience traveling 100%.
Knowledge of conveyor system design, installation, and maintenance.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to travel to client sites frequently.
Physical ability to work in a field installation environment, including the ability to lift and carry heavy equipment.
Experience with basic hand and power tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required, technical degree preferred.
3+ years of experience in mechanical and electrical installation, preferably in the conveyor industry.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as proposals, blueprints, specifications, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
Fluent in reading and writing English.
Understanding of Spanish is a plus.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
Technical ability to use a mobile device such as a smartphone, tablet, or laptop computer.
Ability to use multi hand and power tools associated with conveyor installation.
Ability to climb ladders, operate a forklift and scissor lift, and practice proper safety per OSHA standards.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. They will be at various facilities and must follow all EH&S requirements set by these facilities, ensuring safety is a priority. The work involves using multiple hand and power tools, climbing ladders, and operating forklifts and scissor lifts. Employees must be physically capable of lifting and carrying items of at least 50 lbs.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Port Clinton, Ohio.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
