Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Independently develops electrical engineering designs, and prepares plans, specifications, single-line diagrams, schedules, and other contract documents.

  • Performs field assessments and verifies existing conditions.

  • Coordinates as necessary with utilities and other outside review agencies.

  • Performs calculations, sizes conductors, and designs panelboards.

  • Coordinates work with architectural and other engineering disciplines.

  • Coordinates fixture selection, photometric analyses, and circuiting with lighting consultants.

  • May respond to RFIs, review Submittals, and execute Change Orders. May monitor construction progress, and coordinate with Construction Management and Building Inspectors.

    Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or related field, and 5 years of applied progressive experience.

    Knowledge and Skills:

  • AutoCAD proficiency required. REVIT experience a plus.

  • Should be familiar with primary distribution systems

  • Familiarity with IBC, NEC, NESC, and state & local building codes desirable

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and modify existing electrical systems

  • Demonstrated ability to develop new electrical system models and select equipment using industry-standard software

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • EIT Certification required (or acquisition strongly encouraged

    within 2 years of hire)
  • Professional Engineer license a plus

    Working Environment:

  • Office environment with some field work required
