Mizuho Corporate Bank Fixed Income Product Controller in New York, United States

Position Summary

As a Fixed Income Product Controller, you will be responsible for the accounting and financial reporting of the fixed Income trading desks. Desks include Interest Rate Products, Securitized Products, Credit Products, Derivatives, and Municipal Market Products. FID Product Controllers are responsible for the monitoring of transactions, P&L and act as a primary control function. Additionally, you will be responsible for the oversight of daily revenues and management of various individuals across Fixed Income team.

Essential Job Duties

  • Daily, monthly and quarterly P&L production and analysis, including risk-based attribution.

  • Daily interaction with the trading desks.

  • Liaison with various areas within the firm (e.g. Operations, Technology, Middle Office and Market Risk).

  • Process reengineering to improve efficiencies.

  • Oversee Month-end General Ledger closes.

  • Oversee Balance sheet substantiation.

  • Review IPV results with Valuation team.

  • Ensure the completeness and accuracy of Volcker reporting metrics.

  • Ad hoc requests from the desk.

  • Participation in Finance initiatives.

  • Assess new trades for appropriate valuation, accounting treatment, and disclosure in the financial statements.

  • Work with financial control in preparation of key external reports such as disclosures.

  • Volcker metrics reporting along with commentary for regulatory submissions.

Qualifications

  • Fixed Income experience across all products.

  • CPA or CFA preferred, but not required.

  • 5+ years of product control experience.

  • Previous management experience.

  • High attention to detail.

  • Capable of running with projects and leading team.

  • Fast learner and team player.

  • Strong analytic and problem solving skills.

  • Highly proficient in Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables).

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; the ability to clearly articulate ideas.

  • Accounting or Finance degree required.

    The expected base salary ranges from $114,000 - $180,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
