Description We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team based in New York, New York. Working within the tourism industry, your role will be centered around maintaining the financial stability and accuracy of our operations. As a Staff Accountant, you will be tasked with handling accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), bank reconciliations, and managing the general ledger and journal entries. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Handle accounts payable (AP) and ensure all payments are made in a timely manner

• Oversee accounts receivable (AR) to ensure that all invoices are issued correctly and collected promptly

• Conduct bank reconciliations to keep track of all financial transactions

• Maintain the general ledger with utmost accuracy, ensuring all entries are up-to-date

• Prepare and input journal entries into the accounting system

• Oversee the month-end close process to ensure all financial data is captured accurately

• Utilize Microsoft Excel to create spreadsheets and reports for financial analysis

• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary

• Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently

• Maintain accurate customer credit records. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) procedures and management

• Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR) procedures and management

• Ability to perform accurate and timely Bank Reconciliations

• Familiarity with General Ledger operations and maintenance

• Experience in preparing and posting Journal Entries

• Capable of handling Month End Close operations effectively

• Proficient in using Microsoft Excel for accounting and financial tasks
