Description We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team in New York, New York. This role is central to our Finance and Accounting team, offering an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment. The Senior Accountant will report to the Director of Finance and will be responsible for a variety of accounting functions, including month-end close procedures, bank reconciliations, balance sheet account reconciliations, and journal entries.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the daily and monthly accounting functions, including month-end close procedures, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet account reconciliations

• Prepare and post appropriate journal entries

• Collaborate with the Director of Finance to support business analysis, client and product profitability analysis, and monthly operating results to budget

• Develop and implement operating metrics to recommend ways to measure company performance based on financial results

• Develop, implement, and maintain internal policies, controls, processes, and procedures to support growing and changing business needs

• Interact with business regarding monthly costs and ensure clarity of financial data

• Carry out monthly reconciliation of credit cards and maintain accurate records

• Improve visibility of capital assets and contribute to the overall financial health of the company

• Consult with external auditors and tax professionals as required

• Utilize various software and tools, including Microsoft Excel and NetSuite, to perform duties efficiently. Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification preferred.

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the media or advertising industry.

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP principles, financial reporting, and accounting best practices.

  • Proficiency in NetSuite

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.

  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and integrity.

  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

  • Strong work ethic and commitment to continuous improvement.
