Barclays Services Corp seeks Software Engineer (AVP) in New York, New York (multiple positions).Number of positions: 5 JOB DUTIES:1. Analyzing and taking ownership of major components that are leveraged across the applications within the analytics portfolio.2. Gathering and understanding business requirements, deduce and translate them into technical details and implement the solution.3. Preparing functional and technical specification documents, preparing Data Flow charts and use-case diagrams to define the user behavior on the system being developed.4. Design, build, maintain and enhance highly available, scalable, realtime and secure systems used by customers worldwide.5. Provide second-line support for production issues, respond to user queries, and resolve infrastructure problems.6. Perform extensive data analysis, in addition to conducting testing of units, applications and systems.7. Analyzing queries, stored procedures, DDL & DMLs on databases.8. Doing POC, code-reviews, creating prototypes and provide recommendations to the teams on designing, developing, and implementing the software solution.9. Testing and troubleshoot application & database issues. Prioritize and escalate changes and defects to development team along with possible recommendation.10. Tuning application performance to reduce bottlenecks and increase efficiency, throughput and response time.11. Providing technical, analytical support and guidance to project team members. Mentoring junior resources in the team to make them efficient and help them grow.12. Creating & Updating Autosys batch jobs by doing shell scripting.13. Build and deploy software solutions in RedHat OpenShift (aPaaS) & AWS cloud infrastructure.14. Manage, monitor & support end to end production release of software solutions.15. May Telecommute. REQUIREMENTS:Employer will accept:1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Digital Design, or related field2. Five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.RATE OF PAY: $169,229 - $175K per year. The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate.
