Position Summary

This Senior Planner, Inclusive Strategy will be responsible for supporting and developing a communications strategy for one of the largest beauty retailer and premier beauty destination in the US.

The Senior Planner, Inclusive Strategy will have a keen understanding of diverse & multicultural audiences (Black, Latino, Asian, LGBTQIA+) and a desire to create inclusive audience strategies that are born from within.

The Senior Planner, Inclusive Strategy must thrive on exploring changing consumer behavior, cultural trends, connections and competitive insights to discover new innovative solutions. By focusing on why people think, feel and act the way that they do, this role will help create communication strategies and ideas that build Cultural impact, Community relevance and Commerce connection for the brand.

Responsibilities
  • Illustrates the power and influence of multicultural & diverse audience segments (Asian, Black, Hispanic, LGBTQ+)
  • Helps client and team members understand audiences beyond demographics through unique and compelling storytelling
  • Writes compelling POVs on topics important to the client's business
  • Designs, fields, and analyzes primary research, having the ability to write clear, well thought-out, and intriguing questions that will lead to fresh and disruptive insights.
  • Key contributor in internal and client strategy ideation workshops (demonstrating understanding the real business challenge, audience/targeting, insight generation, and innovation)
  • Challenges the conventional ways of thinking about audiences with insightful and strategic rationale
  • Meets with media partners on a regular basis to keep abreast with product/platform offerings and changes within the media landscape
  • Defines the client's brand and business problem in the context of a communications challenge we can solve.
  • Identifies the right tools to investigate the challenge, from internal resources to syndicated tools, to proprietary research and partner data.
  • Synthesizes multiple forms of data into innovative and actionable communication strategies and go-to-market ideas.
  • Creates consumer journey and brings the audience to life with cultural nuances by analyzing multiple data sources, including primary, syndicated, and third-party research.
  • Seamlessly works with teams across disciplines, building upon and uniting work under a holistic communications plan.
  • Understands of all channels and disciplines with the ability to develop ideas and strategies across all consumer touchpoints.
  • Familiarity with most major syndicated tools, both strategic planning and consumer insight, e.g., GfK, MRI, Mintel, WARC, Euromonitor, Nielsen, Kantar, Qualtrics.
  • Experience with social listening and affinity-based tools, including CrimsonHexagon, Brandwatch, Helixa, Affinio.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Curiosity about diverse cultures, stories, experiences, including pop culture and the ever-changing media landscape
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience required; in related field (e.g. media planning, marketing, consumer research, strategy, etc.)
  • Software: Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.), Keynote, familiarity with most major syndicated tools, both media planning and consumer insight, e.g., MRI, Mintel, Nielsen, Kantar and affinity-based tools, including CrimsonHexagon, Brandwatch, Helixa, Affinio.
  • Communication: strong written and verbal communication required.
  • Strong organizational skills and analytical skills (both qualitative and quantitative)
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and close attention to detail

Desired Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience at a media agency, creative agency or digital agency (1-2 years is ideal)
  • Proven strategic comms ability and understanding of consumer behavior
  • Demonstrated creativity

The salary range for this position is posted below. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position, market considerations, budgetary considerations, tenure and standing with the Company (applicable to current employees), as well as the employee's/applicant's skill set, level of experience, and qualifications.

Salary Range
$70,000-$80,000 USD
