FirstService Residential Senior Corporate Accountant in New York, New York

Job Overview:

As Senior Corporate Accountant you'll report directly to the controller and be a part of a dynamic team collaborating with various teams across multiple markets to ensure appropriate revenue recognition, project implementation and process improvements.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Assists with maintaining general ledger, check registers, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and fixed asset schedule.
  • Assist in payroll entry.
  • Assist with corporate budget and quarterly forecasts.
  • Reconcile monthly bank statements.
  • Review journal entries of junior accountants to ensure accuracy.
  • Perform variance analyses.
  • Assist in implementing new accounting policies and procedures.
  • Support the monthly accounting close process.
  • Prepare yearly tax workbooks.
  • Work cross-functionally, collaborating with various teams across multiple markets to ensure appropriate revenue recognition, project implementation and process improvements.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with a high work load volume while also knowing when to ask for help and ask questions when the information is unfamiliar.
  • Microsoft Dynamics experience is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills is a must.
  • Possesses personal and professional integrity.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Diligent and self-motivated.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • A self-starter who leads by example and who is respected by all levels of employees.
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized.
  • Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines.
