Robert Half Senior Accounting Manager in New York, New York
Description We are on the search for a Senior Accounting Manager to become part of our team located in New York. This role is crucial as it involves managing a range of accounting functions, including lease accounting, payroll, fixed assets, and more. This position offers a long term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure the timely and accurate recording of financial transactions in the general ledger in compliance with GAAP
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to meet internal deadlines
• Analyze financial statements for variances and discrepancies, collaborating with finance and other departments to ensure complete and accurate reporting
• Engage actively in operational accounting processes
• Support quarterly reviews and annual audit processes; facilitate internal and external audit timelines
• Conduct account analysis
• Review monthly internal financial statements
• Oversee journal entries for accruals/reserves, prepare and review supporting documents, analyze P& L and Balance Sheet accounts, and review GL account reconciliations for accuracy and reasonableness
• Perform various administrative duties to assist the Finance team
• Handle ad-hoc special projects as needed
• Utilize accounting software systems, specifically Netsuite and Excel, for various tasks. Requirements • Possession of a minimum of 7 years experience in a senior accounting role.
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems.
• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning is essential.
• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions.
• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Ability to conduct Auditing tasks effectively.
• Knowledge of Oracle NetSuite Technologies is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience in Consolidations, including Financial Consolidation and Statement Consolidation.
• Familiarity with ASC 842.
• Proven experience in Month End Close activities, including Month-end Journal Entries and Monthly Financial Reporting.
• Ability to perform Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliation effectively.
• Experience in managing Monthly Close Processes.
• Proven ability to prepare Monthly Financials and Monthly Journal Entries.
• Experience in handling Quarterly and Quarter-end procedures.
• Proficiency in Fixed Assets and Fixed Asset Accounting.
