Hourly Rate: $19.00 (Undergraduate)
Overview of Department:
The MTA Headquarter Office of Security provide oversight and guidance to the overall MTA physical security posture and investment strategy. The Division of Remote Systems & CCTV/Drone primarily focus on the continual investment and expansion of the MTA Security systems including emerging technologies, CCTV and Drones. Intern will evaluate initiatives from a cybersecurity perspective, identifying potential vulnerabilities and ensuring compliance with related cyber security best practices and MTA security policies. The intern will play a key role in assessing and documenting system design, implementation, and operational workflows with a focus on cybersecurity and risk assessment.
Responsibilities:
Conduct research on the latest technologies.
Assist to author articles and write-up of industry news, input, and condense them into summary.
Compile regular update and track key performance matrix.
Review design of systems and workflow process with Security and IT – produce flow chart that reflect the proper workflow.
Manage and update the department SharePoint on documentation, inventory and other information such as budget activities.
Assist Department to collaborate with IT Security on the impact of CISA guidance.
Review and provide support for the MTA implementation of deployable CCTV solutions.
Attend project meetings and technical meetings related to projects.
Projects:
Evaluate and document AI driven technology from Cybersecurity perspective for AI initiatives.
Assist with identifying potential vulnerabilities related cyber security best practices for emerging technologies.
Develop flowchart of risk analysis and mitigation efforts for Unmanned aircraft system (UAS) Drone technologies.
Required Qualifications:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is a must.
The candidate should possess organizational, analytical and communication skills.
The candidate should be able to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
The candidate should have a keen eye for detail and be able to work independently while being an active team player.
Basic understanding of networking principles.
Experienced or having coursework related in the following areas: Cybersecurity, Risk Assessment, networking.
Demonstrate understanding threat risk vulnerabilities methodologies a plus.
Required Education:
Matriculated in an undergraduate program in good standing with at least a 2.5 GPA
Major(s) Preferred: Cybersecurity, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Security, Government Relations, AI, Computer Information Systems.
