Salary Range: $26.07 - $29.20

Position Summary

Under direct supervision, provides support to physicians by documenting relevant clinical information and medical history in patients' electronic medical record in advance of their visit

Job Responsibilities

  • Photocopies materials brought by patient for physician’s review during exam.

  • Prior to patient visit, updates patients’ medical record with medical information from previous visits.

  • Uploads electronic files brought by patients for physician’s review during exam.

  • Accompanies physician to exam room so as to transcribe notes and other pertinent medical information within the electronic medical record while the physician speaks with the patient.

  • Reviews physician orders within the practice management systems to identify tests or diagnostic scans ordered for patients. Flags patient visits with missing exams for follow-up.

Education

  • High school diploma or GED

Experience

Prior experience in a patient-facing clinical setting

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.

  • Previous experience using computerized appointment scheduling systems (EPIC preferred) and/or electronic Medical Record (eMR) system (ideally EPIC-Care).

Standard office work; May require from time to time to lift light to moderate amounts of weight (eg, boxes of medical/facility supplies)
