Amazon Managing Producer, Production Operations in New York, New York

Wondery is hiring for a Managing Producer. This role will support day-to-day production processes across multiple podcast productions and work with show teams to ensure productions are properly resourced and remain on schedule. It is the perfect role for the audio professional who gravitates toward spreadsheets, scheduling, and organization.

You will be vital to the Production Operations team, providing the main logistical support, being the main point of contact between the content team and marketing and ad operations to ensure a smooth production process for episodes and deliverables, and building and maintaining calendars, budgets, contracts, and facilitating delivery of assets. Strong organization and communication skills are absolutely essential for this role.

You will report to the Senior Managing Producer, Production Operations, and work closely with internal Wondery producers and external production teams. The Production Operations team is a highly organized and creative, dedicated group who loves collaborating and problem solving together. This is an opportunity to help build and maintain infrastructure and organization for our growing slate of shows. We develop premium content and this role is key to building the foundation under each show.

Key job responsibilities

  • Manage deliverable schedules and show budgets.

  • Create and oversee implementation of production calendars, schedules as well as production- and greenlight-processes across the department.

  • Coordinate production logistics, timelines, and expectations with internal staff and external contractors and production companies.

  • Act as the main point of contact between Podcast Content and other Wondery departments to deliver needed assets.

  • Sourcing contractors and assisting with hiring.

  • Oversee and support producers with remote and in person and studio recordings.

  • Own key administrative functions including tracking show-level budgets and invoices, managing contracts and production paperwork, and scheduling.

  • Provide creative feedback as needed.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of relevant experience.

  • Experience overseeing creative aspects of production, including creating production schedules, managing show-level budgets, and/or hiring independent contractors.

  • Audio production experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.

  • Project management skills with proven ability to pivot and creatively problem solve.

  • Skilled at self-direction and ownership of project and process.

  • Deep knowledge and enthusiasm of the Podcast industry.

  • Effective leadership and diplomatic communication skills.

  • Experience as a producer, production manager or line producer.

  • Video production experience

  • Experience managing multiple productions in a content realm as project manager, line producer or the equivalent.

  • Experience with Airtable, Descript, Dropbox, Iconik.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
