Our Global Design team is responsible for the Colgate-Palmolive global portfolio of products which are found in 75% of every home in the world. We have brands across Oral Care, Personal Care, Home Care, Skin Health and Pet Nutrition categories.

We are growing our Industrial Design capabilities within the Experience Design team at Colgate-Palmolive's Global Design division. This pivotal role will lay the foundation for our growing capability, driving projects and programs that improve our outstanding brand experiences .

As an Industrial Design Manager, you will be responsible for owning the development and execution of innovative industrial design strategies that support our global and regional brands. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that our products not only meet, but exceed consumer expectations in terms of functionality, aesthetics, and usability. This role requires a transformative team member who can bridge the gap between design, engineering, and business to drive impactful solutions across our Oral, Personal, Home, and Pet Care categories.

What you'll do:

  • Lead the creation of superior brand experiences by supervising the design of physical products and innovation platforms.

  • Collaborate with partners (R&D, Engineering, Marketing, Insights) to bring creative ideas to life with a meticulous approach to Industrial Design.

  • Translate business and brand strategies into people-driven product and brand experiences that go above and beyond.

  • Craft fabulous, visually appealing, and user-friendly product experiences with a strong technical ability and keen eye for design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Brand Stewardship:

  • Be responsible for the industrial design development of global and regional brands, ensuring alignment with brand identity and market positioning.

  • Champion the human-centered design approach in all projects, focusing on consumer needs and usability.

  • Innovation and Opportunity Identification:

  • Collaborate with business partners to identify and pursue innovation opportunities within Oral, Personal, Home, and Pet Care categories.

  • Use design thinking methodologies to drive innovative solutions from concept to commercialization.

  • Project Management:

  • Lead and coordinate projects using a network of agency partners, freelancers, and in-house resources.

  • Leadcross-functional teams through sophisticated projects, effectively communicating business needs and technical constraints.

  • Ensureprojects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

  • Team Support and Collaboration:

  • Supportand mentor other members of the Industrial Design team.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional business partners, providing visualization and research support through sketching, CAD, rendering, and workshop participation.

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to advise design decisions.

  • Trends and Technology:

  • Stay current with design trends and emerging technologies.

  • Identify and evaluate new tools, materials, and processes that could benefit the company.

  • Proactively suggest and implement relevant trends and technologies to enhance product design and development.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Industrial Design

  • 6+ years of experience as an Industrial Designer

  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, SolidWorks, & Keyshot

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in product design, CAD, rendering, and prototyping.

  • Strong visualization skills and the ability to effectively communicate anything you or others can think up

  • People-focused design mentality and you are constantly looking to hone your design instincts through user feedback.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to distill information so that it is relevant to the audience you are delivering it to.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Storytelling. You must be persuasive, and have the ability to tell stories that influence people.

  • Great teammate with a collaborative mentality.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's Degree

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range $102,000.00 - $144,000.00 USD

Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location. In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing and, for Executive-level (salary grade 16 and above) roles only, long-term incentives in the form of Restricted Stock Units and/or Stock Options.

Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable benefits plans then in effect, all salaried employees are also eligible for a competitive benefits package which includes:

  • Insurance: Employees (and their eligible dependents) are eligible to participate in Company-sponsored Medical, Dental, Vision, Basic Life Insurance, Accidental Death & Dismemberment and Disability insurance plans.

  • Retirement Plans: Employees are eligible to enroll in Colgate's 401(k) plan, which provides for company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements

  • Vacation/PTO: Employees receive a minimum of 15 days of vacation/PTO leave annually

  • Paid Holidays: Employees receive a minimum of 13 paid/floating holidays annually

  • Paid Sick Leave: Based on location and consistent with applicable state and local law, employees receive a minimum of 40 hours of paid sick leave on January 1st of each year

  • Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees may take up to eight weeks of paid parental leave and 12 weeks of unpaid leave (varies for employees with fewer than 12 months of service and is subject to hours worked requirements)
