Job Description

Join our team as aKnowledge Manager, Development Operations! We’re looking for a dynamic professional to ensure that teams can access the information they need to do their work, oversee Development’s knowledge management strategy and ensure that information is effectively captured, shared, and used across the organization. This role involves creating and maintaining knowledge resources and systems, supporting employees in accessing and using those resources, and promoting a culture of knowledge sharing. .

Role Overview:

  • Develop department-wide strategies to improve the consistent transfer of knowledge across teams and roles and promote collaboration.

  • Work effectively across Development to capture and distribute knowledge that supports new and existing technology solutions, business processes, and department policies.

  • Own the ongoing design, administration, and maintenance of our SharePoint sites, including the knowledgebase.

  • Create, disseminate, and maintain knowledge resources, such as application user guides, how-to articles, orientation materials, and department policies.

  • Establish and maintain writing guidelines based on knowledge management best practices.

  • Leverage tools and methodologies such as knowledge mapping, storytelling, and communities of practice to capture and preserve knowledge effectively.

  • Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of knowledge management processes, gather feedback, and refine strategies to ensure the organization remains adaptable and responsive to changing environments.

  • Identify and explore shortfalls within our current systems and make recommendations for improvement to design, process, and data management.

  • Become well versed in our systems and act as an expert in Development policies and procedures.

    Key Qualifications:

  • 4-7 years of technical writing, knowledgebase management, instructional design, website design, or business analysis experience.

  • Proven experience in knowledge management or a related role .

    Nice to Have:

  • Certification in Knowledge Management (e.g., CKM, KMP)

  • Experience in the fundraising field

  • Experience with Blackbaud CRM, Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, or other fundraising and relationship management software

  • Experience with SharePoint, Jira, Confluence, and Smartsheet

  • Experience with the software development lifecycle

  • Superb communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels in a confident, professional manner.

  • A quick learner, able to independently gather information from subject matter experts to learn the intricacies of technical and business processes.

  • Ability to work effectively in an environment notable for complex and rapidly evolving information.

  • Adaptability and resilience, willingness to try different courses of action to overcome difficulties.

  • Outstanding collaboration and interpersonal skills.

  • Willingness to discover creative, innovative ways of doing things and having the courage to pursue them.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills.

  • Proficiency with knowledge management software and collaboration tools.

  • Strong research skills including interviewing, gathering, and analyzing data from multiple resources.

  • Enthusiasm and dedication to MSK's vision, mission and values.

    Additional Information :

  • Location: 633 3rdAvenue, NYC

  • Schedule: Primarily remote with a minimum of one onsite visit per year.

  • Individuals will have the option to work in the office more frequently.

  • Reporting to the Manager, Project Management

    Pay Range: $98,500.00 - $157,600.00

    Learn more about Development and Development Operations team : Our development team helps accelerate research and optimize patient care by raising funds to support the work at MSK. We are responsible for major gifts, institutional giving, fundraising events, annual giving, planned giving, and direct marketing. The Development Operations team is responsible for the technical infrastructure and business operations that support the department. We aim to increase MSK’s fundraising potential through the creation of innovative technology and process solutions. Professional growth, continuous improvement, and collaboration are all critical to our success and pursuing these goals.
