City of New York Fleet Staff Analyst in New York, New York

Job Description

  • Provide professional and technical work in the preparation and conduct of administrative processes and procedures.

  • Assist in the planning, coordination and implementation of agency personnel administrative activities including the intake and processing of staff driver applications, maintaining an accurate database of agency drivers, and providing support throughout the hiring process; sort applicants, coordinating interviews, assisting with compiling, processing and filing hiring documents.

  • Plan and coordinate Fleet-personnel activity; design, develop and coordinate schedules amongst internal staff and external vendors.

  • Collect and analyze data; identify discrepancies and design methods to reconcile and prepare comprehensive reports of findings.

  • Examine costs estimates, including personnel costs, and calculate and report on variances.

  • Request and ensure accurate funding is allocated by internal partner Departments for the procurement of materials and services; ensure account accuracy for internal Department accounts.

  • Install methods, systems, forms or procedures as it relates to Fleet management compliance, including compliance with various City, Agency and Fleet-related requirements by conducting analyses of datasets from various Fleet-management systems.

  • Track Fleet inventory and agency authorized drivers; update Fleet systems as appropriate.

  • Oversee the acquisitions and disposal processes; preparing documents for DMV transactions; inputting accurate information and data into Fleet management systems; Maintain accurate filing system.

  • Perform data entry and data entry review across all Fleet management systems, as well as other internal Agency systems.

  • Work cooperatively with internal Departments and Divisions in various capacities.

  • Perform related work.

Qualifications

  1. A master’s degree from an accredited college or university, accredited by regional, national, professional or specialized agencies recognized as accrediting bodies by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, urban studies or a closely related field; or

  2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, accredited by regional, national, professional or specialized agencies recognized as accrediting bodies by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and two years of satisfactory full-time professional experience working in one or a combination of the following areas: working with the budget of a large public or private concern in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, or fiscal or economic research; or in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation; or in personnel or public administration, recruitment, position classification, personnel relations, labor relations, employee benefits, staff development, employment program planning/administration, labor market research, economic planning, social services program planning/evaluation or fiscal management; or in a related area.

Special Note:

To be eligible for placement in Assignment Level II, individuals must have, after meeting the minimum requirements, one additional year of professional experience as described in "2" above.
