Citigroup Expense Management Senior Lead Analyst- SVP/C14 in New York, New York

The role is a senior management level position responsible for providing management with an analysis and insight of Citi’s financial results in coordination with the broader Finance team. The overall objective is to manage professional team(s)/department(s) and apply analytical thinking/knowledge of data analysis methodologies to create and analyze reports that gauge Citi’s alignment with forecasted performance.

The Expense Management Team drives firm forums and initiatives and provides data, tools and transparency to enhance the management of expenses and related resources. The Expense Management Team’s value proposition is centered around identifying, monitoring, and partnering across various stakeholders including Finance, Business teams, HR, and Controllers to drive optimal use of expense resources. Additionally, the expense management team works to improve Citi’s expense management governance framework to ensures transparency and consistency across the organizations uses of resources.

This role requires In-depth understanding of how the Expense Management team contributes to achieving the objectives of the firm. A good understanding of the industry is also necessary in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business. Requires thorough understanding of strategic direction of the function within the relevant part of the business, combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in both the function and/or area of expertise and related subject areas. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage with Business and Finance teams to promote expense discipline and full utilization of expense optimization tools and processes

  • Firm-wide Incentive Compensation analysis and forecasting

  • Weekly headcount reporting and analytics, working closely with the CFOs/COOs to provide bridge between expense management and workforce planning

  • Manage severance approval and utilization reporting and analysis

  • Generate analytics for quarter end flash results, related highlights, board of directors reports, and executive management

  • Partner across Finance, HR, Business Partners, and Controllers to improve efficiency, effectiveness, productivity, and/or control by leading workshops/initiatives

  • Prepare/present to senior management and stakeholders on using metrics to evaluate and drive business decisions

  • Partner with stakeholders to implement financial initiatives and manage work of the department ensuring appropriate staffing and organizational structures are in place

  • Review and challenge of productivity initiatives to ensure execution against key expense priorities

  • Review and challenge of investment initiatives to ensure execution against key expense priorities

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience

  • Experience within financial services

  • Experience providing financial analysis for monthly forecasts, strategic multi-year forecasts, and annual budgets

  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint

  • Knowledge in additional systems including Oracle, Essbase, and SAP

  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree required

  • Master’s degree preferred

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$163,600.00 - $245,400.00
