Overview

Engage in daily strategic sessions with the Dean to coordinate activities, furnish briefings on current affairs, and supply pertinent materials for meetings and events. Conduct comprehensive research, analysis, and compose detailed reports on a diverse range of projects and issues for the Dean's review. Craft articulate communications and correspondences on behalf of the Dean. Oversee and orchestrate the Dean's schedule, meticulously assessing logistical considerations for timing, venues, and the significance of engaging with diverse constituencies within a dynamic and rapidly evolving setting. Cultivate robust professional connections across a broad spectrum of School, University, and external stakeholders—such as trustees, donors, alumni, students, faculty, judges, and various legal community groups—to adeptly manage the Dean's calendar, facilitating intricate domestic and international agendas, and arranging itineraries for meetings and events. Coordinate between the Dean's Office and Senior Administration across the school to facilitate information flow and timely follow-up. Act as point person and keeper of centralized and confidential information to ensure effective and efficient follow-up for the Dean. Analyze information and initiatives to direct the appropriate flow of incoming and outgoing communications for high volume effectiveness. Serving as the Dean's envoy in collaboration with the Chief of Staff, analyze and address a spectrum of non-routine, and delicate inquiries. Assess disparate priorities and potential courses of action, navigate complex issues, and offer guidance and information to trustees, donors, alumni, students, faculty, judges, legal community groups, administrators, government entities, professional organizations, other institutions, visitors, applicants, and the wider public. Continuously follow up with stakeholders regarding inquiries and ongoing initiatives to guarantee prompt and comprehensive responses.



Responsibilities

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience:
3+ years Experience providing administrative support in a fast-paced office working with multiple constituencies.

Preferred Experience:
3+ years Experience providing support to a senior executive, including complex scheduling, and managing sensitive relationships, data, and communications.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills. Ability to communicate sensitive information verbally and in writing to individuals at all levels. Ability to take initiative and manage a variety of tasks and projects simultaneously. Ability to work independently. Ability to act in a professional and confidential manner with all levels of employees and outside groups and effectively respond to simultaneous requests and projects. Knowledge of advanced functions for MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint).



Qualifications

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $75,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
