The Corporate Vice President, Suitability will manage a team of Analysts and Registered Principals who are tasked with the timely review of new and replacement sales and certain inforce transactions for our life insurance policies, annuities, and mutual funds to ensure they meet the company’s suitability and replacement guidelines. The leader is expected to foster a positive work environment, ensure strong relationships are developed with internal and external stakeholders and operational performance is optimized through focusing on people development, process refinements, and technology enhancements.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for oversight and development of staff within the Suitability Team. Ensures staff are recruited, trained, coached, and evaluated to provide best in class service.

  • Ensure that all new business and inforce suitability pends are resolved in accordance with our corporate suitability standards as well as within our service standards. Review and sign off on all suitability control reports within compliance standards.

  • Monitor agent/customer transactions and identifies any patterns requiring review by Corporate Compliance.

  • Handle escalated inquiries and appeals and look for opportunities to improve our communication with the Field.

  • Provide leadership with respect to coordinating sensitive/escalated matters which require review by multiple parties.

  • Accountable for team performance goals, ensuring service levels, productivity and quality standards are met.

  • Participates in the design of annual plans and team objectives to support the Company's objectives and the Service organization's strategies.

  • Provides guidance to agents and the Field on matters pertaining to Suitability.

  • Ensures that senior management is provided with analysis of suitability trends and recommended potential solutions.

  • Serve as a liaison with our Systems, Project Management, and Corporate Compliance Teams. Partner with key representatives in these areas to advance system and workflow enhancements which lead to a more efficient and controlled operating environment.

  • Serves as a liaison with Corporate Compliance to identify and implement projects which advance strategic goals of achieving greater operational efficiency and strong compliance results.

  • Lead project teams on initiatives such as improving our client and agent correspondence, designing new workflows and testing criteria to accommodate new products and/or compliance guidelines, and the implementation of new controls to support existing procedures.

  • Prepare and distribute monthly suitability trend and compliance reports.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership skills are a must. The ability to coach and develop both individual producers and managers while co-leading a multi-site group is key. Proven ability to foster a collaborative and cohesive culture where employee engagement and agent satisfaction levels are high. Accountable for team performance goals, ensuring service levels, productivity and quality standards are met. Proactively creates action plans and works with managers after analyzing findings and trends.

  • Education - bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in the securities industry with a background in registered annuity products, life products, mutual funds, and securities.

  • FINRA Series 7 and 24 required; Series 53 and/or 4 a plus.
