DCAS is looking to hire a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as a Team Lead / Solution Architect. In this role, you will lead a team of developers and collaborate closely with Line of Service IT Business Support Directors to design and implement user-centric solutions. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership, contribute to strategic decision-making, and actively participate in the development process. DCAS is an administrative arm of NYC and DCAS IT team manages and support all the Technology initiatives related to all line of services. For more information, please visit www.nyc.gov/dcas

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of application developers.

  • Collaborate with IT Business Support Directors to design and implement user-centric solutions.

  • Provide technical leadership to the development team.

  • Gather technical requirements and formulate appropriate architectures for system functionality.

  • Translate software architecture into design and actively participate in the development process.

  • Act as the primary escalation contact and be on call for application/production support issues.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience: 10+ years of IT work experience, with at least 5 years managing teams of 5-10 developers and successfully implementing large-scale projects leveraging (.net) Microsoft

    technologies.

  • Technology Stacks: Proficient in Angular, Microsoft technologies, and other relevant technology stacks.

  • Database Design: Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL and database design.

  • Cloud Solutions: Experience managing and integrating Cloud Solutions.

  • Identity Management: Familiarity with identity management using OAuth2.

  • Good to Have: Experience with MS Dynamics 365.

Additional Skills:

  • Be willing and open to taking on new challenges.

  • Experience with understanding and designing highly scalable and secure architecture, session management, and caching.

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and listening skills.

  • Strong negotiation, team working, and interpersonal skills.

  • Leading by example, drive to learn and integrate solutions using Microsoft technology stacks.

Qualifications

  1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering or a related field and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to datacenter engineering and operations, cloud engineering and operations, complex IT infrastructure engineering; or,

  2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related to datacenter engineering and operations, cloud engineering and operations, complex IT infrastructure engineering; or,

  3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above.
