EMC Corporation has an opening for an Advisory Systems Engineer in New York, NY. Job eligible for telework. 50% Domestic travel required and international travel to Asian Pacific Japan.Duties: Provide technical and business level discussions with client architects as a trusted advisor. Join architect-level client-facing and internal technical review meetings. Participate in the development of the client strategic technology direction and innovation strategy. Ensure all proposed solutions meet the technical and business needs of the customer. Identify additional product/services sales opportunities in the customer organization. Coordinate discussions with various subject matter experts pertaining to database, cloud, hypervisor, network, security, data protection, Kubernetes and data analytics technologies. Articulate solution designs and overcome technical objections with various stakeholders and business units. Provide technical feedback to business unit product management teams that will allow for product enhancements. Using Dell’s internal labs, tools and processes, provide technical demonstrations that will showcase Dell’s solution outcome.Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field of study and 5 years of experience as systems engineer or similar occupation or a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field of study and 3 years of experience as systems engineer or similar occupation. Requires experience with: Data Protection Software technologies: Dell DPS, CommVault, Cohesity, IBM, Rubrik, Veritas and Veeam. Database workloads: Oracle, SQL, SAP, NoSQL, PaaS and Maria. Cloud Architectures: AWS, Azure, GCP and IBM. Storage Systems: NetApp and Pure. Unstructured and Structured data types: File, Block, and Object. Network designs: Cisco and Brocade. Hypervisor technologies: Vmware, Hyper-V, Zen, and Openstack. Kubernetes and Containers: AKS, EKS, Tanzu and Docker. SaaS applications: SalesForce, M365, and GSuite.
