Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in New York, New York

Description We are inviting applications for the role of Accounts Payable Specialist based in New York. This position is set in the non-profit sector and offers a short term contract employment opportunity. The successful candidate will be tasked with managing accounts payable tasks, ensuring attention to detail, and maintaining high levels of organization.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the efficient and precise processing of accounts payable transactions.

• Resolve any inquiries related to accounts payable in a timely manner.

• Manage customer accounts and perform necessary actions as required.

• Ensure the accuracy of all customer credit records.

• Regularly monitor customer accounts for any discrepancies or issues.

• Handle the processing of customer credit applications with precision.

• Maintain a high level of organization in all account payable tasks.

• Actively engage in the management and resolution of customer inquiries.

• Maintain an organized record of all accounts payable transactions. Requirements • Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) processes and procedures.

• Minimum of two years experience in a similar role within the non-profit sector.

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.

• Strong understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles.

• Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.

• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Excellent data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.

• Proficiency in English and in Office software, particularly Excel.

• Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software.

• Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information.

• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.

• Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees.

• Superior organizational and multitasking abilities.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• High degree of adaptability to varied work environments and tasks.
