Job Description

The Finance team at Turner & Townsend is seeking a self-driven, proactive, and detailed oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to assist with all aspects of the AP function. The person will demonstrate an appropriate understanding/working knowledge of the full life-cycle accounts payable function. Reporting to the US Accounts Payable Manager, the AP Specialist will provide support to the team and business units as required, including assistance with the development of ad hoc financial analyses.

*In-office presence is required three days a week, working out of our NYC office. No exceptions.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Invoice Processing: Efficiently process vendor invoices, matching them to purchase orders and contracts while verifying accuracy.

  • Expense Coding: Assign appropriate general ledger codes and cost centers to invoices.

  • Vendor Communication: Maintain open and positive communication with vendors regarding payment inquiries, discrepancies, and dispute resolutions.

  • Payment Processing: Prepare and process payments to vendors, ensuring adherence to payment terms and company policies.

  • Expense Reconciliation: Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

  • Month-End Closing: Assist in month-end closing activities, including reconciliations and reporting.

  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and best practices in accounts payable processes.

  • Support: Provide support to the finance team as needed, including assisting with financial analysis, reporting, and special projects.

  • Perform with a high degree of accuracy and integrity while remaining SOX compliant.

  • Supports audit requirements including internal, external, and compliance audits.

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and suggest how improvements can be implemented.

  • Provide accurate and high-quality information on a timely basis.

  • Ensure T&T standard procedures and policies are applied.

  • Preserves confidentiality of sensitive information.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field preferred

  • Minimum of one to three years full cycle accounts payable experience

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is highly preferred and/ or experience utilizing a contemporary AP software is mandatory

  • Proven ability to work in a deadline driven environment

  • High degree of organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail

  • Quantitative thinker who is a problem solver

  • Excellent Microsoft Office Skills with a strong emphasis on Excel

  • Works well in a team environment

  • Ability to grasp new concepts quickly and apply them

Additional Information

The salary range for this full-time role is $55K-$70K per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate’s experience and qualifications.
