Job Description
Since 1917, Teachers’ Retirement System of the City of New York (TRS) has been building better tomorrows for the educators of New York City. TRS serves over 215,000 members with a mission to provide them retirement, disability, and death benefit services.
The Loans & TDA (Tax Deferred Annuity) processing unit is seeking four (4) motivated and detail-oriented Summer Interns. The interns will assist in processing annual Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) applications, work on critical data clean-up tasks, and support colleagues and unit staff with their weekly assignments.

Responsibilities include:
Process Annual Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) Applications:
Review and process RMD applications received from members.
Ensure compliance with Internal Revenue Services (IRS) regulations and company policies.
Maintain accurate records of all processed applications.
Data Clean-Up for Modernization Implementation:
Assist in identifying and correcting data inconsistencies.
Perform data validation and quality checks.
Collaborate with the team to ensure data readiness for implementation.
Assist Staff with Weekly Tasks:
Provide support to staff with routine tasks and projects.
Help in preparing reports, documents, and presentations.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions.

Qualifications
As of June of the Program year the prospective interne must be a student matriculated in a college or be a recent college graduate (winter/spring term of the Program year).
NOTE: Appointment to this title is only valid for the duration of the Program, June - August each year.
