We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Director of Finance / CFO in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. This role is critical to our operations and involves overseeing the Finance Department, including Accounting, Budgeting, and Procurement Function. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with accounting standards, preparing business activity reports, and managing the company's investment portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the overall function and management of the Finance Department, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in operations

• Reviewing and recommending modifications to accounting procedures and policies to enhance operational efficiency

• Ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting pronouncements and standards

• Preparing and presenting comprehensive reports that summarize company business activity, financial position, and future expectations

• Directing the calculation of depreciation rates applicable to capital assets

• Coordinating the development of a five and ten-year capital improvement plan in conjunction with the GM-CEO and Senior Executive Team

• Establishing major economic objectives and directing the preparation of annual and five-year budgets

• Managing the company's investment portfolio in collaboration with the Investment Advisor

• Leading improvements in the company's financial operations by leveraging industry best practices

• Collaborating closely with the GM-CEO to ensure alignment between the Finance Department and overall company strategy

• Participating in strategic planning sessions with the Executive team

• Ensuring the company's financial performance aligns with short and long-term financial and operational goals

• Continually evaluating financial operations and computer software use for operational automation and process efficiencies

Requirements • Possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in finance roles, ideally in a leadership position

• Hold a current CPA License

• Have significant experience in auditing, preferably within a corporate setting

• Demonstrate a strong understanding and application of budget processes

• Possess extensive knowledge of FERC regulations and requirements

• Have experience with utility billing systems and procedures

• Show a comprehensive understanding of GASB standards and their application in financial reporting
