Title: Samples Technician- Food Preparation

Location: New Orleans, LA

Type: Contract to Hire

Pay: $16.00- $17.00 hr.

Schedule: Mon-Fri 9:00 am- 5:30 pm (Occasional OT Required)

Overview:

Exciting opportunity for an entry-level position in the sciences as a Sample Technician specializing in food preparation. Ideal for candidates eager to get into the dynamic world of scientific exploration, offering ample room for learning and professional development within the industry.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare incoming test samples by splitting, grinding with appropriate grinders, and homogenize for further testing in accordance with standard operating procedures and applicable quality control procedures.

• Record supplies taken from stockroom in the logbook, and note any supplies that may need ordering and/or rush delivery.

• Logs and delivers sample splits to testing departments, and as needed gets the appropriate signatures on the appropriate log.

• Responsible for logging and storing retains of the samples, as well as discarding the retains properly according to the appropriate standard operating procedure.

• Performing environmental monitoring, as needed.

  Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required. Associate's degree in lab science or related field preferred

• 6 months-2 years experience required with food preparation
