Job Title: Crane Operator
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Overhead Crane Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in utilizing overhead cranes, industrial forklifts, excavators, and front end loaders to move materials. This position involves loading and unloading barges, rail cars, and flatbed trucks, as well as staging lumber, steel bars, iron plates, and pallets in the warehouse. General labor duties will be required as needed.
Responsibilities
Operate overhead cranes, industrial forklifts, excavators, and front end loaders to move materials.
Load and unload barges, rail cars, and flatbed trucks.
Stage lumber, steel bars, iron plates, and pallets in the warehouse.
Perform general labor duties as needed.
Essential Skills
Overhead crane operation
Industrial forklift operation up to 90,000 lbs
Ability to work outside in various weather conditions
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Excavator experience
Skid steer experience
Front end loader experience
TWIC card required

Work Environment
You will primarily be working outside on the shipyard in all weather conditions (rain or shine). The work schedule is from 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM every day, with a weekly schedule provided. Typically, will work around 2 weeks on and 1 week off.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Orleans, Louisiana.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
