Actalent Electrical Engineer in New Lenox, Illinois

Job Title: Electrical EngineerJob Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a driven and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer. This role offers a 50/50 blend of Electrical Design and Electrical Testing on-site at client locations. The successful candidate will be responsible for learning internal standards and systems to grow their responsibilities and advance their technical development. The expectation is to become self-sufficient in handling CAD work for projects from conception to project completion. This position demands a team player who can thrive in a fast-paced work environment and master a variety of skills.

Hard Skills

  • Advanced knowledge in AutoCAD

  • Ability to understand and create electrical schematics using AutoCAD

  • Strong time-management skills

  • Ability to interpret one-line engineering schematics/drawings

  • 1-2 years of professional work experience in AUTOCAD Electrical/Inventor

  • 4-year degree related to Electrical Engineering

  • Working knowledge of electricity and control circuits, electrical symbols, transformers, breakers, generators, fuses etc.

  • UL or NEC experience (preferred)

  • Panel layouts and schematic design (preferred)

Soft Skills

  • Ability to work as part of a team or individually on projects

  • Maintain a professional relationship with all staff members and clients

  • Effective communication skills to ensure clear understanding of project goals

  • Keep up to date on all modern advancements in material and software technologies

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 9 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in New Lenox, Illinois.

Work Environment

The chosen candidate will join a team of five other designers in an open-plan office setting. The office is connected to the manufacturing department, offering opportunities for cross-functional work. Travel may be required to client sites for electrical testing and integration.
