POSITION SUMMARY

:

[ICAP is a private, non-profit agency mobilizing private and public sector resources to help low and moderate income people improve their living conditions. The Head Start division is a federal program for preschool children from low-income families. Children who attend Head Start participate in a variety of educational activities, and services offered to meet the special needs of children with disabilities.

[[The Head Start Program Assistant will provide support to Administrative Staff and all program components.

  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
  • Must possess record of current Tuberculin test and physical examination attesting to the fact that the individual is free from communicable disease.
  • Consent to and successful review of a Limited Criminal History review, National Sex Offender check, and FBI fingerprinting.
  • Must be willing to work flexible work hours between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Must be certified in Infant/Child CPR and First Aid.

  • Follow the directions of the Administrative Assistant and the Director of Children's Services.
  • Serves as support staff to all component areas (substitute teacher, bus driver).
  • Assist Administrative staff when free from other responsibilities; file management.
  • Assist with the Recruitment Program for the following year enrollment by completing 10 profiles. (Jan. to May)
  • Responsible for all laminating and all die cutting.
  • Attend all required Head Start trainings.
  • Maintain a Staff Credential Plan, while working toward credential.
  • Responsible for cleaning and organizing the Education storage room.
  • Responsible for helping in filling classroom requests.
  • Run errands for Administrative staff.
  • Relate any classroom or personal problems directly to the Director of Children's Services.
  • Maintain confidentiality among Administrative Staff.
