RWJBH is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Pediatric ICU at the New Brunswick campus. This is a part-time, Night position (36 hours/week). 7PM -7:30AM
Pediatric ICU is a 20 bed pediatric intensive care unit. Level II Pediatric Trauma Center. Full line of services to provide pediatric critical care.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Active, valid NJ Registered Nurse license required
BSN required OR must be willing to sign a 5-year agreement to obtain your BSN
Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
PALS and ACLS required within 6 months of hire
Two (2) years of Peds Med-Surg or critical care experience preferred
National Certification preferred
The PICU at the Bristol Myers Squibb Children s Hospital at RWJUH is seeking an experienced RN with a passion for the PICU to be part of our Great Team!
Responsibilities
Providing nursing care in the health care system within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards and assures awareness of ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics,
Assuring safety in practice and is inclusive of the principles of evidence based practice by maintaining a realization of own individual level of knowledge and experience and assumes responsibility for advancing knowledge of self and others of the patient care team by communication with and utilizing resource persons and programs available,
Reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors,
Being knowledgeable about the patient population served,
Supervising and directing the delegation of tasks to appropriate team members and collaborates with other patient care providers,
Consistently setting and evaluating priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement,
The Registered Nurse as an individual practitioner and the interdisciplinary team manager, utilizes the nursing process to integrate all aspects of the provision of care and individualizes the plan of care to address a specific patient s needs,
BLS, PALS, ACLS are required,
TNCC or PCAR/TCAR required,
