Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Lab Research Coordinator for the Psychology department within the School of Arts and Sciences. This position provides direct research support to the lab's PI, Dr. Shana Cole, and will also serve as a liaison between faculty, PhD students, and undergraduate research assistants associated with the RAMP Lab. In addition to research support, this position will provides administrative support for the lab. This may include maintaining the lab's website and social media accounts, organizing meetings, booking travel, ordering supplies, and other administrative duties as needed.Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Develops and implements study design using Qualtrics.
  • Assists with development and revision of stimuli, measures, and other elements of study design.
  • Processes study compensation payments upon completion of study activities.
  • Creates and manages IRB protocols.
  • Hires and manages undergraduate research assistants
  • Coordinates research team.
  • Organizes lab meetings and other lab events.
  • Learns and uses new technology, such as eye tracking
  • Assists with clerical duties including purchasing and organizing lab supplies and filing reimbursements for lab expenses.
  • Conducts literature searches, drafting IRB protocols, designing and developing research studies, learning and using advanced technology (e.g., eye tracking), recruiting participants, training undergraduate research assistants, collecting and coding data, participating in weekly lab meetings, and managing research teams.
  • Other duties may also be assigned as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Certifications/Licenses
Preferred Qualifications
  • One (1) year of relevant research experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • General understanding of psychology research methods.
  • General computer skills and ability to quickly learn and master computer programs.
  • Ability to work under deadlines with general guidance.
  • Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to complete detailed work accurately.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with human study participants.
