A highly visible and accountable role within a high performance & fast paced culture focused around the area of Personal Care and Home technical formulation and relevant technologies! A trusted technical advisor to both internal & external strategic business partners to develop emerging categories that accelerate the growth of the business. This person will have solid understanding of technology and ingredient trends that support the development and positioning in a global environment.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes technical strategy for new white space opportunities including timeline feasibility, risk mitigation, key ingredients’ selection, technology platforms and development priorities.

  • Fuel the business with winning innovation conceptualization and desirable market relevant ingredient/benefit story concepts.

  • Apply data insights (CMI) to identify growth opportunities for product innovation and market differentiation.

  • Present product concepts and provide regular development progress to leadership.

  • Collaborate and provide R&D’s POV on product positioning to Merchants, Legal and cross functional technical teams.

  • Technical oversight at the inception of the project (Brief reviews)

  • Key to collaborate with external contract manufacturers, chemical suppliers, and technical teams.

  • Support overall desired product compliance and performance attributes.

  • Provides more tactical support for projects of high complexity and fast-tracked timing.

  • Will be accountable in driving formula development for key fast-track projects.

  • Identifies value engineering projects related to formula optimization and drives reformulation development by working with relevant Value Engineering teams.

  • Anticipate, remove, and plan for any potential barriers that could potentially impact success.

Relationship Development

  • The Manager will be accountable for developing & maintaining a strong relationship with all the partners.

  • Empowered decision-making skills regarding process and products.

  • Drive a strong advisory relationship with contract fillers and raw material suppliers.

  • Demonstrates and promotes collaboration with functional and cross functional partners.

Personal Development and Influence

  • Strategy for laying out updated business processes that support new white space opportunities within the business.

  • Accountable for the staying abreast of the latest technical landscape

  • Attending and reporting back external, industry seminars and trade shows.

  • Process Improvement for realized speed and efficiency within the team.

Data Systems/Process

  • SAP/PLM

  • Product Briefing process

Qualifications

  • 10 years of relevant research and development experience.

  • Validated skills researching and identifying new technologies to deliver winning innovative propositions.

  • Ability to work effectively, both independently and as part of a team, with diverse groups of people at various levels within and outside the organization

  • Knowledge of both domestic and global formulation requirements is preferred.

  • Highly motivated and influential individual who possesses strong technical competence.

  • · Experienced in leading and building relevant capabilities within a larger team.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience- MBA or MS preferred.

    NYC Salary Range – $120,500 $157,000
