The Position

Social Workers are licensed professionals who provide case management services to children, families, vulnerable adults with intellectual, developmental, physical disabilities, serious mental illness, and older adults (collectively referred to as "vulnerable adults") and other individuals within local communities and institutions.

Social Worker III's perform advanced journey level case management services in child protective services, foster care, adoptions, adult protective services, and/or guardianships.

DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES (DCFS) is recruiting for Social Worker 3 position in in any of our 8 Rural Offices throughout Nevada (Carson City, Fernley, Fallon, Elko, Ely, Winnemucca, Yerington, Pahrump). Positions are assigned to provide child welfare services to children and families to include but not limited to: Conduct thorough assessments of families at SAFE Model specific times throughout the life of the case. Manage and assess on-going safety threats throughout the life of the case; deliver strength-based family centered case management services to families that promote the safety and well-being and permanency of children. Ensure children have their medical, mental health and educational needs met. Ensure Case Plans are developed and reviewed in accordance w/ policy and practice guidelines; documentation of assessments, monthly caseworker visits, court reports, social summaries, diligent search efforts, and other pertinent paperwork. This is a full-time position. To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

Licensure or provisional licensure as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, Independent Social Worker, or Associate in Social Work and one year of professional experience providing case management in child protective services, foster care services, adoption services, adult protective services, and/or guardianships in a social work setting equivalent to a Social Worker I in Nevada State service; OR one year of experience as a Social Worker I in Nevada State service.

Special Requirements

This position is subject to call-out or call-back. Working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required. A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. This position is subject to on-call. Licensure or provisional licensure by the State of Nevada Board of Examiners for Social Workers as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, Independent Social Worker, or Associate in Social Work is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of employment.
