Position Summary/Description:

This position will employ experimental systems and interdisciplinary approaches and provide broad training in the areas of cell cycle and tumor suppression, epigenetic control during tumorigenesis, with an emphasis on the regulation of DNA methylation in pancreatic and liver cancers, among other diseases. The purpose of the position is to understand how cancer drivers initiate and maintain lineages that no longer play by the rules of evolutionarily dictated cell fate specification and hierarchical organization in order to identify, revert, and eliminate them. The incumbent will be employed to carry out advanced independent and/or directed research to achieve the objectives in various specialty areas of research including oncogene and tumor suppressor networks, malignant specification and lineage plasticity, and evolution of cancer epigenetic and genomic heterogeneity. The principal investigator will establish the professional objectives and performance standards for the incumbent and will conduct evaluations.

Education and Experience:

Previous experience with genetically-engineered mouse ( GEM ) models, as well as familiarity with Single Cell RNA Sequencing techniques preferred.
